Let me tell you about Eco-Sexy.
Creating your life to be an Eco-Sexy one starts by incorporating ecologically sustainable choices into your intimate lifestyle. Being able to experience ultimate pleasure AND be ethically conscience, non-toxic, vegan and/or fair trade all sound like familiar trendy & hipster buzz words; but let’s be honest and cut to the chase – eco conscientiousness is imperative for the success of our future & the future is very sexy!
Here’s a quick list of how you can incorporate some ecosexy changes into your intimate lifestyle today:
1. PLEASURE PRODUCTS
What you’re looking for here are waterproof, rechargeable (plug-in or solar) and phthalate free or glass features. There are so many great product lines to choose from that fit the bill and are crucial to consider when you’re thinking about what you’re putting into your body for pleasure. For example, solar toys charge conveniently for your diverse travel needs, glass toys are hypoallergenic & don’t fall victim to deterioration or odour accumulation, phthalate free products won’t well, deposit plasticizers into your body over time, which is a bonus. Obviously.
When thinking about cleaning your pleasure products, look no further than your kitchen! If you want a natural cleaning method that packs a punch, as an alternative to using soap & warm water, try using equal parts white or apple cider vinegar, and add a couple drops of tea tree oil (Melaleuca) – it’s that easy! Cleaning your toys in between delicious antics is important in maintaining your sexual health and in decreasing the risk of infection or transmission, especially if you are not playing with barrier methods such as condoms.
3. ETHICAL CONDOMS
There are a few product lines that are staying right on the eco-sexy trend. Australian company Glyde, produces condoms that aren’t tested on animals & are forged without animal by-products. Hailing from the UK, French Letter Condoms pride themselves on being ethically conscience as part of their proceeds goes toward ensuring that the rubber-plantation workers receive fair wages. Then, there are Sir Richard’s condoms, who donate proceeds and a 1 to 1 purchased condom to developing countries. As an added bonus they are also vegan & offer paraben, glycerin free lubricant within. Finally, there is Japanese company Kimono who are considered by some, the thinnest & strongest of the vegan-friendly condoms. All of these companies are socially engaged, promote safer sex through harm reduction and are ecologically conscience. When wrapping up, why not be Eco-Sexy at the same time?
4. NATURAL LUBRICANT
If you’re looking for a product that will be sensitive to not only your body, but is conscience for the planet as well, look for lines that offer plant based ingredients, are water or oil based and say that they are natural & organically certified. Want to go real natural? Then look no further than your own pantry! Naturally processed oils such as olive, coconut or grape seed are real options to go for. But, if you do happen upon your local sexual health shop, then my suggestion is to try TRUST lubricant. Their all natural oil based lubricant consists of a blend of food grade grapeseed, apricot kernel, and avocado oils. TRUST contains no additives of any kind, petro-chemicals or parabens. It is 100% natural, vegan and kosher. TRUST is a brand I recommend to add to your intimate eco-sexy lifestyle.
Just a final tip; if you’re going oil based, then you can’t use latex condoms. Oil makes latex more susceptible to breakages so go latex-free; and, be sure to look out for glycerin or high fructose contents in any lubricant you use between your legs, in order to avoid the risk of infection.
