How can you do this through massage? Keep reading.
Calibrating Your Intention
Assume you are going to massage your partner. Sit down with her. Let her explain and share the causes of stress in her life. Perhaps there is a particular area or issue to focus on. If you respond, try to do so with the following words, "I understand how you could feel that way." However you choose to respond, make sure you come from a place of acceptance, not of judgment. Once this is complete, do the following: relax, focus on your breath, and set your intention (believe) that your massage is healing and rejuvenating her areas that are damaged.
Massaging Your Partner
Always use oil when you massage. Massage oil reduces friction, and allows for a more relaxing experience. We recommend TRUST because our proprietary blend consists of pure, fresh oils that relax and nourish your body. If you are using something else, make sure you can trust that product and its ingredients. Steer clear products containing additives, preservatives, petro-chemicals or parabens.
Before you start the massage, encourage your partner to focus only on one thing during the massage: her relaxation. Ask her to focus on her breathing, trying to keep it deep and even. Next, begin the massage, holding your healing intention in your mind. Feel your intention, allowing it to control the pressure and speed of your hands. Ask for feedback, slow down, continue to encourage her to relax, and allow yourself to relax. When you find a spot or area that seems tight, ask her to consciously tighten it for 5 to 10 seconds. Then, have her relax the spot, and engage it again carefully and thoughtfully with your hands.
The most important items to keep in mind are these: trust your intention, trust your intuition, and listen to your partner.
There are pathways to healing that are readily available to partners in an intimate relationship. By practicing the techniques in this post, you will naturally develop your massage skills, enhance your partner's responsiveness to your touch, and create new ways to find strengthen your relationship.
